My booking platform still asks for a national rental registration number. Does that still apply?

I list my Spanish property on an international booking platform for a few weeks a year. The listing form still has a field for a national rental registration number, even though I read earlier this year that a Spanish court had struck that register down.
Which one is right, the platform's form or what I read?

Real Decreto 1312/2024 created a single state registration number for short term and seasonal (temporada) lets, required since 1 July 2025 to advertise on short-term rental platforms. Ordinary long-term residential leases under the LAU were never within its scope, under Article 2 of the decree.
The Tribunal Supremo annulled the state registration procedure itself in a judgment of 21 May 2026 (published as BOE-A-2026-13893), ruling that the State lacked the competence to run it. The articles affected include 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 of the decree. What the ruling leaves standing is the Single Digital Entry Point, through which platforms must still pass booking data to the authorities under EU Regulation 2024/1028, applicable across the EU since 20 May 2026, and any register a region already runs on its own authority for tourist accommodation.
A platform's listing form can lag behind a court ruling like this one. Whether a regional number applies to your property, and what to enter where a platform still asks for one, is something your gestoría or your region's tourism register can confirm.
